A life well lived
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Her love is still a light in our family, steady, warm, and never forgotten. Forever in our hearts
Early Life and Education
Late Chief (Mrs.) Margret Aletile Ikiyoueghoemi Toikumoh was born in June 1945 into the family of Mr. Erepatei Younmoh and Mrs. Hanna Iyawo Erepatei (nee Agpogha Moboh) in Arogbo, Ondo State, Nigeria. She peacefully departed this life on 23 June 2025, after a lifetime of purpose, faith, and selfless service to humanity.
Chief (Mrs.) Margret began her early education at the Roman Catholic Mission (R.C.M.) Primary School, Arogbo, between 1962 and 1968. Although she started school at a later age, her brilliance, dedication, and unwavering determination distinguished her among her peers. Her formal education was later interrupted by circumstances beyond her control, an early sacrifice that helped shape her resilience and character.
Family Lineage and Heritage
She hailed from the Pawei lineage on her paternal side, tracing her ancestry through Paji, Egema, Pawei, Yonyin, Erepatei, Younmoh, and Aletile, all of Egbesubiri Quarters, Arogbo.
Her father's maternal roots trace back to Ondo Town, where her grandmother hailed from and gave birth to Younmoh Erepatei, whose daughter was named Aletile, hence her Yoruba name. On her maternal side, she was born to Mrs. Hanna Iyawo Younmoh Erepatei (nee Agpogha Moboh), a woman of respected lineage and gentle strength.
Religious Life and Service
Chief (Mrs.) Margret was a devout Catholic, deeply committed to her faith from childhood through her formative years in R.C.M. School. She was widely known and loved by priests and parishioners for her humility, discipline, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God.
Throughout her lifetime, she held several positions of trust within the Roman Catholic Church and Egbesubiri Quarters, Arogbo, where she served faithfully as Treasurer until her passing. Her life of service earned her respect across traditional, religious, and political circles.
Chieftaincy and Traditional Recognition
Due to her integrity, service, and exemplary character, the late Agadagba of Arogbo-Ibe, His Royal Majesty D. M. E., nominated her for a chieftaincy title. She did not reject the honor; rather, she humbly deferred it, choosing to give herself more time.
The proposal resurfaced under the reign of Regent Tarabiritori, Late Sofiyegha, and His Highness Beke, and once again she chose to wait, prioritizing readiness and reflection. Eventually, the present Agadagba of Arogbo-Ibe, His Imperial Majesty Pere Zaccheaus Doubra, who also happened to be her son-in-law, renewed the offer. This time, she joyfully accepted and looked forward to attending the installation ceremony with her beloved children in grand style.
Sadly, she passed on before the ceremony could be held. In recognition of her lifetime of faith, service, and virtue, she was posthumously conferred with the prestigious title of Kokobai-ere of Arogbo-Ibe.
Political and Community Involvement
Chief (Mrs.) Margret Toikumoh was an active political figure and a passionate advocate for women's participation in governance. She was a dedicated member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and formerly served as Woman Leader, Arogbo Ward 1, under the Labour Party during the administration of His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
She also held the esteemed position of Iya Oloja, Market Leader, during the reign of Pere D. E. Eperetun and served as Vice President of the Catholic Women Organization (C.W.O.), Arogbo Chapter.
Her Legacy
Chief (Mrs.) Margret Aletile Toikumoh was more than a mother. She was a pillar of strength, a beacon of wisdom, and a vessel of love. Her kindness bridged families, her counsel uplifted many, and her presence filled every space with warmth, dignity, and peace.
She lived a life marked by grace, humility, and compassion, touching countless lives through her faith, service, and generosity. Though she is no longer physically with us, her light continues to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by seven beloved children, many grandchildren, and two dear siblings, all of whom continue to uphold her legacy of love, unity, and faith. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
